Dear Sir,
Point One:
USC B Snooker team went to Runcorn Cons A on 10/11/11 and firstly we cannot understand why it is a 2 table venue and has gone down to 1 table? This is the Widnes League, we allow teams to enter our league with 2 tables and do not expect then to go down to one. I dont think it is fair that our own teams should suffer, I dont think they play on 1 table when they play in there own league, love to hear your comments.
Point Two:
Referees - The standard of refereeing was not far short of disgraceful ! - 4 referees last night from Runcorn Cons A spent more time texting, talking, and one was even having a look at a newspaper ! - I think this is very disrespectful and would like you to inform all other teams going to this venue to keep an eye on the scoreboard as it is easy to make mistakes when not concentrating on the game.
Yours
John Twist.

Hi Clive,
Just to enlarge on John Twist's complaint from Thursday it was very poor refereeing Clive, at one stage one of them took a mobile call while reffing the game . It was bad sportsmanship although nothing happened in the said games.
Kyle Farrington did say however that in a previous home game something did happen to him and because their home ref wasn't watching it cost him the game.

Hiya John
With regards to your first point, it has been mentioned on numerous occasions regarding supposedly TWO tables venues that only allow us to play on ONE table (RWMC has had it's own failings in the past) and even though we, the league cannot make demands on the clubs, the representatives of the league can make decisions on clubs being allowed in the league if they do not fulfil requirements.
Your second point regarding the standard of referees is also valid as only last meeting there was a similar complaint made in which it was felt necessary to keep a close eye on the refereeing from another club.
In my humble opinion I feel that if the referee cant handle the game properly then he should not be allowed to referee and believe the committee need to look into this and make recommendations to all clubs regarding the rules of the league.
I am sure all clubs are aware of the requirement to act in a repectful and sportsman like manner at all times

"Hi Clive,
Just a brief note to give you some info for write up this week re Farnworth A v Buffs match last night.
For some reason, Alan Stacey did not allow me to write breaks and comment on back.
Shaun Cosgrove led 79-2 in 1st frame before John Chamberlain took green to black (50pt difference on colours)
Andy Pennington had 39 break.
Last 2 for Farnworth, Chris S and John D both played really well, John opening with consecutive breaks of 30 and 28, with Chris opening with break of 30, wiping off handicap deficit straight away."
Cheers

Thanks Frank for the information - Cannot work out why you were not allowed to make any comments on the sheet as this is the normal and correct thing to do - Lets hope that Alan Stacey has put the breaks on the sheet as required for the write up.

Hiya Clive
Re snooker info link raise points.
If you can list in the have your say section.
All players need to keep up with the rules.
Last week a player from Fords B was fouled for not nominating his selected free ball in the match with Cons C, dont need to name the players involved, but if you want to know?
Having double checked this rule with a ref you dont have to nominate an obvious choice of free ball.
In fact its up to the ref to ask the player what ball he is taking if the ref is in any doubt, after the player
has been asked and he still doesnt nominate a choice of ball then he can be fouled.
Of course playing the game in in a sporting way may be pointed out to our league players.
Like in our match last week Lee T was pleading with the ref to replace the white ball as he was that embarrassed at his attempt
to escape the snooker.
Was funny.

Thanks for that Peter,
In my opinion, if it is blatantly obvious which ball the striker is going for then there is no need to nominate but if in any doubt then the Ref must ask.
Personally, I would say that it is sporting to nominate the ball as a matter of courtesy but agree that the Ref should have asked the player to name the ball and if he didnt ask then no foul was committed, unless of course it was blatantly obvious the striker hit a ball other than the one he went for !! - good fun this refereeing eh?
I will bring it up at the next meeting for clarification.
